DROP
1. Seed preparation.
The best time for sowing is the end of January - the beginning of February. Seeds must first be stratified. To do this, we sow them on top of the finished soil (more on soil preparation below). We do not deepen, always from above. Then we take out the container with the crops on the street and pour snow on top of the seeds. Further, when the snow melts, it will pull the seeds to the desired depth. Cover with a bag or glass. You can use a ready-made container-greenhouse. We bury the container itself in the snow. In this form, it should stay at least 2 weeks.
2. Preparation of soil and containers.
The container must be disinfected in a dark solution of potassium permanganate for at least 30 minutes. We take universal soil. Be sure to add a little ash, humus and, most importantly, baking powder (perlite, vermiculite, diatomite, river sand) to it. the soil should be loose air and water permeable and with increased fertility. Next, we disinfect the soil by steaming it in the oven at minimum power for 30-40 minutes. We fill the soil in a container, make drainage holes in the bottom. The container itself should be 8-10 cm high. We spill the soil with water until completely moistened.
3. Waiting for shoots.
After passing through the stratification, we bring the container with crops into a warm room with a temperature of + 22 ... + 25 ° С. Every day we carry out airing for 10-15 minutes until shoots appear. Usually shoots appear in 10-15 days, sometimes on 5-7 days. When the soil dries up, we water with a sprayer. An obligatory condition for obtaining strong healthy seedlings and minimizing the death of seedlings (part of the seedlings will die and this cannot be avoided) is additional lighting until the daylight hours are at least 13 hours. For this, it is best to use phytolamps. If they are not there, then you can illuminate with ordinary lamps, but avoid burns of seedlings.
4. Landing in open ground.
Seedlings will be ready for planting in open ground in a permanent place in about 2 months.
